How to access the starter excitation coil

(A) examination of the field coil circuit shown in Figure 4-12, use a multimeter to check the field coil brushes, wires and bare surfaces disconnection has occurred. If disconnection occurs, indicating that the excitation coil is faulty and should be ruled out.
